History
Founded in 1834, Franklin College is a residential liberal arts and sciences institution located 20 minutes south of Indianapolis. Franklin offers a wide array of undergraduate majors as well as master’s degree programs in Physician Assistant Studies and Athletic Training.The unique curriculum merges classroom instruction with immersive experiences, research opportunities, and study away programs. Our goal is to prepare career-ready graduates for today’s global professions and those of the future. Small classes enable students to thrive through personal peer interaction and mentorship from professors who challenge and inspire them to think critically and perform confidently. Students participate in a vibrant co-curriculum that includes 21 NCAA Division III sports, Greek Life, musical and theatre productions, and more than 40 student organizations. As the first college in Indiana to become coeducational with the admission of women, Franklin welcomes diversity of thought, belief, and person into a community that values equity and inclusion. The Franklin College campus spans207 acres, including athletic fields and a 31-acre biology woodland. Because Franklin is close to Indianapolis, its residents enjoy easy access to the resources offered by a large city, but they can also enjoy the charm and small-town atmosphere of Franklin itself, which has a population of more than 25,000.

Total Enrollment
Franklin College welcomed 272 students in the fall of 2022, resulting in 907 full-time enrolled students representing 19 states and 7 countries. Franklin has maintained a student body that is 50% male and 50% female.
Franklin College adopted a test-optional admissions policy in the spring of 2020. Of those students choosing to submit test scores, the middle 50 percent range score for students who took the ACT was between 18 and 25 and the middle 50 percent range score for students who took the SAT was between 970 and 1170. 41%of the students werein the top quarter of their high school graduation class. Of our freshmen, 22% identify as multicultural/international students.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Merit-based scholarships and need-based assistance, including federal grants, are offered. In the 2022-23 school year, we administered more than $32.8 million in financial aid.
Academics
Franklin College offers a bachelor’s degree in 50+ majors in 24academic disciplines. The college also offers 15 cooperative, graduate, and pre-professional programs. The student-to-faculty ratio is 11.7:1. The average class size is 14.74. There are73 full-time faculty members; 72.6% of the Franklin College faculty holds a terminal degree in their area and 49 hold Ph.Ds.
Organizations
Franklin College offers over 50 social, educational, and service-oriented organizations including Greek life, Habitat for Humanity, and Student Congress.
Athletics
Franklin is a member of the Heartland Collegiate Conference and a Division III powerhouse in the NCAA. More than 43% of our students participate in our 21 varsity sports. Graduate Outcomes
In a survey of 164/170 class of 2022 graduates six months post-commencement, 97% of students were employed or attending graduate school within six months of graduating: 68.9% of graduates were already employed full-time, 17.1% were in graduate school, 6.7% were in part-time employment, 4.3% were pursuing other interests and 3% were still seeking employment.Graduate Outcomes Data

We are proud of the rich legacy of Franklin College, which was the first coeducational institution in Indiana to admit women. Here you will also encounter the tale of the Franklin Wonder Five, a basketball team who won the Indiana State Basketball Championship consecutively from 1920-1922 and went on the become college champions in 1923. Historic preservation, from homes to businesses, is part of our town culture you can experience through the numerous historical markers around town.
