I have never ever left a review before but I am absolutely inspired to do so because of the new manager Ashley! I have been going to Cal Sun-the Dewey location next to Safeway for almost 8 years. I have met so many managers, some of whom were not the most pleasant people and made the experience just frustrating and left me wanting to get in and out. However, I recently went in and met Ashley! She is in the new manager at Cal Sun Fair Oaks and I swear she is the nicest, most helpful, positive and kind person. She is like a breath of fresh air in there and I definitely want to go back now because of how amazing she is! I am so grateful to have met Ashley and to have those positive experiences when I go tan! Thank you for your amazing customer service Ashley! You rock!

My first time visiting this location and it did not disappoint! Ashley gave me the tour and she was so sweet and informative. The salon was clean and the beds were amazing. Room 9 is a must! My new fav location, definitely visiting again soon.Thanks Ashley!Tanning

Critical:Professionalism,ValueThe employees at the salon level are so great. However, it is so clear that they are understaffed and overworked. Long lines and long waits because there just isn’t enough of them to keep up with checking in and cleaning.The services are high quality and clean with regular updates.What has really tarnished this company for me was their customer service line at the corporate level. I tried to inform them that I was receiving blisters from the equipment. It was hard to say whether it was from the plastic, tanning lights, or cleaning products. Either way corporate really didn’t seem to care. They just offered me to cancel and lose the hold credit I had while my account was paused because “that’s policy”. Basically I have to either use the credit (which means giving them more money so I can actually use a service) or lose it. Critical:ProfessionalismI have been a cali sun member since I believe 2012, I have not ever experienced what I did at this location.I was on stay and save due to covid and other person reasons. I came in to finally reactivate my membership. I was charged 4 different times because the lady was so eager to charge me before making sure everything was covered. So I paid to reactive my membership, then Paid separately again for new lotion and new eye wear, then I paid separately again for wacky weekend upgrade. When I finished my tanning I was curious what membership she activated me for, she looked it up for me and it was a value one, so i asked for the anytime 29.95 one. She said I would have to pay for February dues upfront and be prorated for the January dues on February 1st. So I paid for that as well. I left happy. When I returned two days later, I was told my membership was canceled.So I now had to stand there while the new lady figured it out. This is were the headache starts…. Apparently the lady never submitted my stuff correctly or something so they canceled my membership (after paying almost 120$ that day) They reinstated my membership, and when I asked about my February dues (to make sure) she said no I would be charged the full amount. When the first lady, when I unfroze my account, said I paid for February in full and would be charged prorated for Jan on February 1st instead. So now it was a different story?I asked for my money back and to be put back on my original membership. They said they could downgrade my account (which would be effective immediately) but not refund me the mistake the lady made. But they could send me a lotion packet or give me a day tanning during the week? As a sorry? Doesn’t even sound equivalent! Especially since I paid for the upgrade already? They said there is upgrade fees thats what I was charged by the first lady EVEN THO she never told me that. She told me I was paying for Februarys membership dues. Which was not true apparently.So i made all these transactions instead of 1. I was told one thing one day and another the next. The first lady’s mistake wasn’t even fixed. So they basically got $ for a cali club membership out of me and I got screwed over. Paid money for something I was not even able to use? Makes me wants to end my 10 year membership all together and tan else where.They had every opportunity to make things right and fix it. And i kept getting a we can’t. Awesome beds, very clean and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The only downside to California Tan is their membership costs more than just buying a couple individual tans a month, and they don’t sell package deals. But definitely worth it if you tan once a week or more!

It was busy, there were toxic baby Karens that were pushing even my buttons. Tech was being a pain, nonstop customers even. This Lil sweetie handled every situation like a seasoned pro! I work in retail, I know how bad it can get when you’re by yourself, it didn’t show on this one. It took a few GREAT GALS (JOLE )and guy Andrew to invoke a great atmosphere and vast ability as to handle problems and current information- before covid,during and present. This location is “chill”,as the individual and clientele become more familiar – they practically hand and you a martini when you come through their doors. Great,affordable clean convenient

Gotta say, seems like they like to pick and chose which costumers to help when they’re busy. Some of us come in without any urgency or complications, and wait patiently to be checked in. Today I was in there and I never had a complaint with anyone else! The blonde girl with darker skin, and another girl with big hoops and brown hair. Horrible service! I’m disappointed. Wasted a good amount of time for no reason. I ended up walking out. If you want good service DO NOT go to the location on Dewey dr. Every other one of their locations I have NEVER been treated like that.
